How To Set Static IP Address On Android Phone

I have an Android Micromax A88 mobile device running on Android version 4.1.1. One day I was trying to access internet over Wi-Fi router but Android OS was not assigning static IP address. After few trail and errors I was able to figure it out.

This method will work with all android mobile phones running version 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on-wards. To set or configure static IP address to your android wifi connection please follow below steps.

1. Tap on Android menu icon and select "System Settings".

2. Switch on the Wi-Fi connection and select your network.

3. Once you are connected to your Wi-Fi network, press it for 2 seconds.

4. A dialog box will popup below options. Select Modify network.

5. Now you will be presented with network details as below.

6. Under IP Settings dropdown/spinner select Static.

7. Now enter static IP address, Gateway, DNS 1 & DNS 2 and tap on save.

Done. Now your Wi-Fi connection will use static IP address. I hope this tutorial helped you to set static IP address on your Android Wi-Fi connection. If you have any questions or face any issues please leave your comments.
